This is a semi-abstract painting from a gesture sketch I made while in Portland, Oregon. As much as I love painting realism, I also love painting semi-abstract since it teeters between reality and abstraction. In many ways, this is more realistic to me as it seems more like our memories than a realistic image. This is an original Christian Ives painting with oil on canvas.
