After a trip to New York City in my early 30’s, I was very influenced by a show called “Painting Now.” There were so many amazing artists, including Laura Owens, with a fresh view of what painting could be. After I returned back home, I wanted to make a series of paintings very different from my own work as a way of expanding my horizon in painting. Although I don't paint this way anymore, this painting was such a fun exploration that really changed the way I even paint now. This is a Christian Ives original oil painting.
